Starting Over is part of the process
The hardest part of changing your habits is sticking with it. It’s easy to fall back into old habits. Now the important part is what you do after you fall back. Many people just give up. It didn’t work, so too bad.
You need to be aware that falling back is part of the process. We are wired to hold on to habits, because for some reason we have felt they served us well. So it’s natural that when you try to change a habit, the old habit will creep up on you. Instead of giving up, you should think about the days that you did hold on to the new habit and you can do that again. Start over. Think about what made you fall back and see what you can do about it, so you have less chance of falling back. Every time you start over, the new habit will become stronger. Be sure to tackle the issues that are holding you back, and whatever you do: don’t give up!
