Are you ready for “How are you”?
It’s the first question you get when you meet someone you know. Of course, most of the time people don’t want to actually know how you are. It’s protocol, so you’re expected to say you’re fine. But in the occasion that someone is genuinly interested, do you know how you are?
I find that a lot of people don’t have a habit of evaluating their current situation on a regular basis. What’s going well, what needs improvement, what’s my general feeling at the moment, etc. If you make it a habit to find out how you are, not only will you finally have a good answer, but you will raise your self awareness. And focussing on things that are going well and things that you are thankful for will even increase your happiness. So get that journal out and start answering that important question: How are you?
